Fuji SL Elite Road Bike - 2017
Every serious rider dreams of lowering their bikes weight to the point where jaws drop
Trouble is that you usually need to buy a great bike and then spend thousands of dollars on upgrades
This is not the case with the Fuji SL Elite
Right out of the box, the SL Elite is just about as perfect as it gets
Premium finishes, Fuji's premier C15 carbon frame, SRAM Red eTap components, Ritchey Superlogic parts, and featherweight Reynolds RZR 46 carbon tubular wheels have this bike hitting the pavement at a claimed weight of 11.39 lbs
The Fuji SL Elite is an ultralight superbike with improved comfort and stiffness to create the ultimate road machine
Fuji's High Compaction Molding System has been honed and perfected over the years to create the stiffest possible frame with the least amount of material
By ensuring that the carbon sheets are free of wrinkles, and the resin has been evenly applied, the engineers can make the bike stiffer and lighter, with less variation in the carbon
The C15 high modulus carbon construction is about as stiff as you would ever want a bike to be, and, when coupled with a PF30 bottom bracket and tapered headtube, will transfer just about every watt in your pedal stroke into forward motion
In the rear, Fuji kept the pencil-thin seatstays we all loved on the Altamira, adding some compliance to the frame for a smoother ride, but switched from a 31.6mm seatpost to a 27.2mm, adding in a little more forgiveness for bad roads and shedding some weight
Plus, the SL clears a 28mm tire (depending on the brand) , so you can throw on some cushier rubber for the ultimate in smooth sailing comfort
The SL Elite is equipped with the highly refined and ultra-powerful SRAM Red eTap 11-speed drivetrain
A mid-compact 52/36 crankset and SRAM Red 11-28 cassette provides the perfect range to mash out a sprint, grind out a climb, or ride tempo
Reynolds RZR 46 carbon tubular wheels with Vittoria Chrono CS 22c wide tires scorch the pavement and a set of EE Cycleworks brakes keep you in control of every hairpin turn.

Fuji Norcom Straight 1.1 Triathlon Road Bike - 2016
Fuji Norcom Straight 1.1 Triathlon Road Bike - 2016
The 2016 Fuji Norcom 1.1 is Fuji's premier offering in the time trial/triathlon bike category
As is common practice at Fuji, designers left no avenue of development unexplored, and worked hand in hand with olympic traithlete Matty Reed and pro triathlon champions Sarah Haskins and Cameron Dye to address issues from a pro rider's perspective, and then translate these inputs into arguably one of the fastest bikes on Earth
The Norcom Straight's C10 carbon frame and FC-330 carbon fork technology represent an amazing jump in stiffness, steering response, and of course, aerodynamics
Norcom was engineered largely in the legendary A2 Wind Tunnel facility in North Carolina, where designers were able to significantly reduce the drag on every yaw angle on the frame and fork, and incorporate the most developed shaping techniques in the industry
The result is an ultra-light, ultra stiff full monocoque carbon frame with race-friendly adjustable vertical dropouts
Norcom Straight's designers placed the rear brake cavity directly behind the bottom bracket (as opposed to being on the seat tube in previous bikes) , and opted to go with a BB86 bottom bracket which moves the bearings outward on the crank axle, dramatically improving the stiffness of both the frame -- through a greater cross-sectional width at the BB shell -- and the crank itself
The result was a surprising 26% increase in stiffness in the BB area, which to a triathlon or time trial rider equals faster times
Using Fuji's newest carbon fiber tubing marvel, Reinforced I-beam (RIB) Technology, designers were able to optimize Norcom's downtube and fork blade stiffness, and couple it with a beefed up 1 head tube achieving an overall front-end stiffness increase of 20% that was reported by pro riders to deliver crisp and predictable steering like no other bike had ever offered
Given the knowledge that aerodynamics are also critical for the rider, Fuji paid specific attention to the adjustability of the rider's position on the Norcom Straight
As input from their top-level riders indicated, an aero bike is an absolute necessity, but a bike must have the versatility to get any rider into an optimized aero position while still maintaining a position in which the rider can run for extended periods of time comfortably and efficiently--designers and athletes agree that this is among the greatest feats achieved on the Norcom Straight project, producing a bike that any rider can race on and reap its greatest benefits
Nothing on the Norcom 1.1's parts roster is left to chance--the components list is top-to-bottom state-of-the-art, pro-level gear
The drivetrain is Shimano's top offering, Dura-Ace DI2 9070--electronic shifting that is so finely tuned and perfectly responsive as to provide seamless adjustments in gearing, at the rider's command, with zero interruptions in the watts going to the rear wheel
The Norcom Straight's own TRP aero TTV brakes

Pinarello Gan Disc 105 Complete Road Bike - 2017 52 Black/Red, 56cm
Disc brakes recently saw an abbreviated tenure in the peloton, but the rest of us are free to take advantage of increased modulation and stopping power on our daily rides
Whether you're training for a century, logging epic social miles, or hitting up a local race ride, the 2017 Gan Disc 105 Complete Road Bike combines Pinarello's legendary ride quality, confident disc braking, and Shimano's workhorse drivetrain at a price that'll leave a few coins left over for those important post-ride burritos
The Gan Disc features similar eye-catching styling as the top-tier Dogma F8, with its signature curves and aerodynamic detailing making the bike as stunning as it is fast
The most notable difference between the two frames is the type of carbon used to make them
While the Dogma F8 boasts the top-end of the top-end Toray T1100 1K Dream Carbon with Nanoalloy Technology, the Gan RS consists of more compliant T600 carbon that sacrifices a bit in the weight and stiffness categories, but drops the overall cost drastically
The Gan Disc incorporates a few tweaks to the lay-up compared to its rim-brake equipped sibling and reinforcement at the brake mounts to accommodate the extra load of disc braking forces
As with the Dogma F8, this frame incorporates Pinarello's asymmetrical design for claimed improvements in power transfer and comfort
The asymmetry in the Gan Disc's seatstays is less extreme than in the Dogma F8, resulting in a more compliant and comfortable ride while still providing benefits in handling to keep you feeling solid out on the road
At the top junction of the stays, a wishbone shape serves to provide clean lines and aerodynamic protection to keep the rear brake out of the wind so you don't have to worry about it slowing you down when you don't want it to
The Gan Disc also incorporates the Dogma F8's Flatback technology
Flatkack tubes feature a signature ovalized face and flattened back to create an aerodynamic profile that slices cleanly through the w...
